2018 – Celebrating 150 years of Law and Order

The museum building at 27 Drayton Street was built in 1868 as Allora’s First Courthouse and maybe Allora’s oldest existing building. It remains in it original built form without alteration. It is one of Allora’s most significant buildings even thought it was relocated in 1884 from Raff Street to its present site in Drayton Street.

Our research in 2018 will be to share our Law and Order history via exhibitions and displays, articles published on this site and in local newspapers.

During 2018 we will be raising funds to relocate this building and our school building to the Warwick Street Historical Precinct.

2019 – Celebrating 150 years of Local Government and Railway

The “Municipality of Allora” was proclaimed on 21st July 1869 and the Railway Line from Toowoomba to Hendon (at the time called Allora Station) was opened by the Governor of Queensland on 11th March 1869.
